Our story
1968
FOUNDATION
Leonardo Rizzi founded a company in Villanova (in the province of Bologna) with the aim of building industrial cleaning machines, making the most of the skills and experience gained over years of work in the sector. The company name stems the Rizzi family surname and the city of Bologna: so RIBO was born.
1970
INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITIONS
Since the very early years of its activity, the Bologna-based company was able to stand out in the market, become a leading company and take part in numerous trade fairs both nationally and internationally, such as those in Milan, Amsterdam and Warsaw.
1975
PRESTIGIOUS CUSTOMERS
In a short span of time, RIBO established itself in the Italian and international market, acquiring more and more customers with a worldwide reputation and strengthening the ten-year relationships with leading companies in their sector, with owners of important and well-known brands at a global level.
1980
PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY
In the 1980s, RIBO broadened its horizons towards the pharmaceutical sector, starting to design industrial vacuum systems and vacuum pneumatic conveyor systems specifically designed to facilitate work in chemical and pharmaceutical industries.
1990
ATEX ENVIRONMENTS
In the 1980s, the government started talking about ATEX environments and its regulations. As a result, RIBO immediately began to create machinery that met all the specific construction requirements to be used in environments classified as ATEX.
2000
THIRD-GENERATION HOPPERS
In the early years of the new millennium, the RIBO Research & Development department was strengthened and it began a study aimed at improving hoppers for pneumatic transport of material. This study will result in the birth of the 3.0 hoppers, and then in 2020 the 4.0 hoppers.
2018
RIBO TURNED 50
In 2018, RIBO turned 50 years old. Fifty years of history make the RIBO brand an absolute benchmark in the industrial vacuum sector in terms of product performance and durability, establishing itself as the undisputed leader in Italy and in the world.
2019
RIBO JOINED THE IVISION GROUP
In 2019, the Bologna-based brand RIBO was acquired by iVision Vacuum, a company operating in the industrial vacuum sector, with particular attention to technological innovation. After 50 years of activity, RIBO was relocated to the Cattolica headquarters. Here, the robustness and reliability of the Bolognese brand combined with the technological know-how of iVision brought about a new generation of intelligent vacuum cleaners.
